With lip tattooing there are several options, the following information should give you an idea as to what type of procedure you might require for your own circumstances.

Lip-line cosmetic tattoo procedure is performed when the client wants to add definition to their lips. Often with advancing age the lip-line will fade making the lips look thinner & pale and there may be very little differentiation between the edge of the lip and the surrounding skin of the face. In that instance lip-line tattooing will help redefine the edge of the lips. Most clients who have faded lips will want the lip-line procedure performed in a colour that heals to about the same colour as their natural lip colour, occasionally a client will want their lip-line done in a darker colour than their natural lip so that they do not have to use a lip pencil when applying their make up. The lip-line procedure can also be of benefit to those who have very tiny crease lines around their mouth that cause lipstick bleeding, with a more defined lip line you may feel that you no longer need to use a lip pencil or lipstick and hence no unsightly lipstick bleeding into skin creases.

Lip-line & Blend procedure is performed to define the lips, and or to change the shape of the lips without creating a hard lip line. Changes can also be made to the lip shape which can be camouflaged by blending back into the body of the lip so as not to create a hard lip-line and to give the illusion of a natural uniform lip colour. For example you can make the top lip slightly fuller, alter the shape of the bow, or make uneven lips look symmetrical. This procedure is usually performed in a colour that closely matches the clients natural lip colour.

Full Lip colour involves applying tattoo pigment to the entire lip, this is performed when the client wants the look of having lipstick on all the time, and this is good for those who just want to add a little gloss rather than having to apply lipstick all the time. With this procedure small changes can also be made to the shape of your lips, a Full Lip is an advanced procedure and should only be performed by someone trained to perform the procedure.

With each of the above choices to get a good even coverage onto the the lip you should have at least two procedures and if you have a lot a melanin in your skin (dark tan, brown and black skin colours) then you will probably need 3 procedures each being 4 - 6 weeks apart, elderly clients and those with frail skin types should wait at least 6 weeks between procedures to give the skin adequate time to heal.

Hi Jack and welcome to the forum.
At present there is not a practitioner in Perth whom I am prepared to recommend however I do have a student from Perth who is currently working their way through my course and upon successful completion I would be happy to provide you their contact details. Of course there is always the option of combining a shopping trip to Melbourne with a Cosmetic Tattoo booking.

If you suffer from cold sores then there is a high likely hood that you will develop a cold sore after lip tattooing, however you can reduce the risk of developing a cold sore by taking an antiviral such as L-lysine one week prior to your treatment and for a day or two before and for 4-5 days after treatment applying Zovirax cream to the lips. If you are in any doubt if any type of medicine is right for you, then you should always discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist prior to use. I have found that even if a client does suffer from cold sores I have still managed to achieve a positive result with their lip tattooing.
